Whoop-dee-doo

May 10, 2013

So today we made a trip out to the Mangrove island. We had to whip out the long sleeves to fend off the mosquitoes. It was quite interesting to see that the propagules placed in the PVC pipes have a higher survival rate than that of the natural propagules. Mrs. McRae stated that the survival rate was about 25-30% against natures 0-5%. One thing I would be interested in seeing is the different type of PVC pipes that can be used. Rather than using one small slit, possibly more holes could be added or more slits. After walking through the island with Mrs. McRae we went off to our activities. We went over seagrass transects. After the mangrove island we broke for lunch and then went lobster hunting. It was quite difficult as they were very stubborn and didn't want to come out. So I just stood back and floated around. Whoop-dee-doo. Here's another mental picture:

As you can see one with the lure stick and one with the net.
